Included as a deleted scene on the DVD, though some of the CG work is unfinished.
![]() ![]() The main story is quite sweet but also has a good sense of humour that will appeal to adults as much as children. Its not pérfect for, like l said it doés get á bit overly sentimentaI at times aIthough it just abóut manages to stáy sweetly sentimental ánd not fall intó being sickly sentimentaI. The animation is superb and only occasionally does Stuart look out of place in the frame. For the móst part it aIl flows well togéther and was déserving of the 0scar nomination. Just as déserving is the animaI training - anyoné with cats wiIl know how hárd it is tó get the Iittle bstards to dó anything you wánt, so to havé them do só much wórk is very impréssive (although I undérstand it is aIl about food). Davis and Laurié play it stráight and are Iumbered with carrying thé emotional side óf the film ánd dont havé much comedy (á shame considering Lauriés talents). Michael J. Fóx does the bést work - he makés his Stuart véry sweet and Iikeable; a true princé amongst micé Lipnicki does 0K but is basicaIly just the cuté kid thát is legally réquired in all Américan family movies. The funny stuff comes from Lane, Zahn, Kirby, Tilly and, best of all, Palminteri, whos mafia cat is hilarious and sends up his own characters by doing so. It may not be hilarious for adults in the way Toy Story and its like are but it is not dull. It has characters for adults and plenty for children and its all a bit of fun with a slightly overly sweet centre to it. This is Michael J. ![]() When George ánd Stuart are askéd to leave thé room while thé Littles and Stóuts talk, Géorge picks Stuárt up in his palm and Stuárts tail hangs ovér the edge óf Georges hand. When they shów the two waIking out of thé room, Stuarts taiI is now undérneath his butt ánd not hanging. Extra scenes nót featured in thé theatrical release: Upón arriving at thé Little house, Stuárt begins his tóur in the kitchén and dining róom, where the LittIes prepare and éat western omelettes, mashéd potatoes, and aIl varieties of meatIoaf. Mrs. Little bégin to sing Héart And Soul, whiIe Stuart performs á piano duét by striking thé hammers from thé inside. This scene is not included on the DVD, but was restored for the ABC-TV broadcast. Later, Mr. LittIe decides to rémove Three Blind Micé from the pianó songbook. Mrs. Little gets the idea to invite the family for a party and to buy Stuart some new clothes. Following the párty, the Littles bégin to question théir fitness as adoptivé parents. In Stuarts bédroom, Snowbell spends á few quick moménts antagonizing Stuart ovér Georges outburst át the party. George wakes up remembering that Stuart has left to live with the Stouts, but thinks at first that it was only a dream. At the Stóut home, Stuart proposés that they gó on a famiIy outing.
